Comprehensive Housing Affordability Strategy Oakland County, Michigan

- Title I of the U.S. Cranston-Gonzalez National affordable Housing Act mandates that states, entitlement communities, and urban counties have an approved Comprehensive Affordability Strategy (CHAS) in order to receive funds from various programs. The components of Oakland County’s 1991-1996 CHAS are: a community profile describing affordable housing needs of very low to moderate income persons and families, the homeless, and others with special needs requiring supportive services; a 5 year strategy for housing investments; and a 1 year plan for applying available resources to the needs identified.
