Local History Biography and Subject Files

Description:

This collection of subject and biographical material formerly made up the Lansing Local History Pamphlet Collection (LLHPC) which had the collection ID 20603. It was a mix of pamphlet type material, correspondence, ledgers, published books, photographs, ephemera, and many other items. In late 2014 and early 2015 the collection was overhauled to better group the types of material into ready-reference subject files in the Local History research room, weed out duplicates and irrelevant material, streamline the broad categories materials have been grouped into, and move books into the cataloged collection. Some materials fit into more than one category so it is best to check in several places. For example, an historic church might fall into Religion or Buildings. We have been as consistent as possible with this type of filing.
