Karanis; Textiles; Wool

Notes:
Small fragment of yellowed woven wool fabric with two purple/red tapestry bands (divided band?). One band is 2.8 cm wide. The other is incomplete, with only 1.9 cm width. The yellow weft in between is 0.8 cm wide. Weft-wrapping, which is very deteriorated, was used for patterning within the purple bands. There is a small area of dove-tailing at one edge of the more complete band. There are a few linen stitches present.
