It is "a manual of Parliamentary law and practice designed for the use of societies literary, social, musical, philanthropic, and fraternal." The book is bound in a black cover with a small gold image of an oil lamp and a tree in the upper left corner. The book is signed with the handwritten note, "Yours Truly, Emma Fox," inside the front over, and also contains the handwritten name and addressses of the owner, "Mrs. Chas. B. Warner, Jr."
