- In this installment of "Welcome to Kalamazoo," Dr. Willis Dunbar interviews Gaston Harris, a lecturer and self-described world traveler, who is in Kalamazoo for a number of speaking engagements. Among other topics, Harris discusses his encounters with Mahatma Gandhi and Albert Einstein, and his impressions of Russia which he visited in 1931. Harris also talks about what inspired him to travel, his childhood as a member of the Sunbeam Missionary Society, and being inspired by Woodrow Wilson's Fourteen Points as a young man.
