- Postcard. Color illustration of the Ambassador Bridge. Front reads, "Ambassador Bridge, Windsor Canada to Detroit, U.S.A." Back reads, "The Ambassador Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world, and connects Detroit, Mich. and Windsor, Canada. Its dimensions are; length on main span 1,850 feet, total length 2 miles. The height over the river is 152 feet. Because the card refers to the bridge as the "longest suspension bridge in the world" we know that the card was printed between 1929, when the bridge was completed, and 1931 when the record was taken over by the George Washington Bridge. - Color postcard depicting the Casino on Belle Isle, with Lake Tacoma in the foreground. Printed on verso: Casino, Belle Isle. - Detroit's principal recreation spot, is an island in the Detroit river connected with the city by a bridge, 8 feet less than half a mile in length. It comprises 702 acres, is over two miles long and boasts of over 20 miles of fine macadam roadway, which completely circles and frequently intersects it. A fine zoo, aquarium, horticultural building, swimming and skating pavilions, casino and boat livery are in connection. The city has expended over $1,500,000 on it since its purchase in 1879. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked May 17, 1912.
