- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. The photo was taken from an elevated position across Campus Martius, looking southwest, down Fort Street. Horse-drawn streetcars and their tracks are visible along both Woodward and Fort. City Hall and the base of the moonlight tower in front of it are visible on the right. At the left is the Hammond Building, draped in banners and indicated with a blue "X," and the Bagley Memorial Fountain. "Left side Detroit City Hall - (Mother's bank marked X.)" handwritten on verso.

- Color postcard depicting the Union Trust and Hammond Buildings from the corner of Griswold and Congress Streets. Printed on verso: Union Trust and Hammond Buildings. Two of the best known office structures in the city are shown in this picture, the Union Trust Building in the foreground, and the Hammond Building on the left. The former is one of the solidest structures in the city, and was finished in 1896 at a cost of $500,000. It is owned by the company whose name it bears. It has two marble stairways and includes 250 suites of offices. The two buildings occupy the entire frontage on Griswold St. between Fort and Congress. Handwritten message on verso reads, "I think you are a fraud." Postmarked from Sept. 22, 1920.

Printed on verso: The view shows the highest and largest Office Building in Michigan. The Dime Bank in rear of City Hall is 23 stories high and contains 1000 offices. The other white building is the Ford and contains 559 offices and is 19 stories high. The Hammond and Penobscot Buildings are at left of City Hall. Handwritten message on verso, dated Dec 10, 1915.

The Hammond Building is on the left edge of the frame, and is wrapped in banners, hung with flags, and has a portrait of Ulysses S. Grant hung just above street level. The Moffat Building is also wrapped in banners and has a large "welcome" banner that is hung above its entrance. On the far right side of the image, a portion of one of the triumphal arches erected during the encampment is visible. Pedestrians, a pair of horse carriages, and a horse-drawn streetcar marked "Boulevard and Fort Wayne" are in the foreground.
