- Black and white photo of the State Street face of the Edison Building on the southeast corner of Washington Boulevard and State Street, taken during its conversion from the Edison Illuminating Company's Station A to the company's offices, from across State to the northeast. Several windows, and in some cases, the surrounding brickwork have been removed, and workers are visible inside. A construction canopy has been erected above the sidewalk along State Street. A sign for a loan office is posted on the Sun Building on the left edge of frame. In the background on the right, the Reliable Furniture and Carpet Company, the W. G. Arthur Reid Company, Mazda Lamps, and Fulmer's Cigar Store are visible on the west side of Washington Boulevard. "Main Office Progress - Reconstructing 2nd & 3rd Floor," and "M-5020 12-8-16," are printed along the bottom of the image.

- One set of architectural "Specifications for Mr. L. J. Mosse for a Two Story Four Family Flat Building Located on the West Side of Brooklyn Avenue Between High and Locust Streets, Part of Lot 3 & 4, Detroit, Michigan." The specifications (Job 265, Set No. 3) are bound in a booklet that has three brass fasteners at the top. The cover is made of heavy tan paper and includes typewritten text for the title. Printed text beneath the title shows the name, "J. Lawson Miller, Architect." The cover interior and outside back cover have printed advertisements for many contractors, tradesmen, and building materials suppliers. The booklet contains 61 pages of typewritten text that give brief descriptions of all of the materials and construction requirements for the project. An index is shown on the first page.

- City of Detroit, Fire Commission appointment certificate, printed by the Calvert Lithograph Company, and issued to William Duncan, on April 1, 1867, for the term ending April 1872. The certificate contains the signatures of Controller Emery J. Garfield, and Mayor Alexander Lewis, a metallic gold embossed seal of the City of Detroit, engraved imagery from the seal, affixed sepia-toned head-and-shoulder portrait photographs of the fire commissioners William Duncan (top left), James W. Sutton (lower left), Theodore Hinchman (top right), and Lucretius H. Cobb (lower right). A handwritten note along the top edge of the certificate misidentifies the men as Joseph Godfrey, Peter Henkel, Benjamin Vernor, and Jerome Croal. The certificate is mounted on linen.

A brick building under construction has a sign in front that reads "Holmes & Holmes, General Contractors, Ferndale, Michigan." The Lincoln Park Hardware and McManus Drug Co. buildings can be seen at the far left side of the photo. A typewritten label on the verso shows "Cor. Fort & State, 1925."

- Description:
- Sepia-toned photo mounted on a black cabinet card with gold trim bearing an image taken during the 1891 National Encampment of the Grand Army of the Republic in Detroit. A triumphal arch topped with an obelisk is in the process of being erected on the corner of Woodward Avenue and Jefferson Avenue, as viewed facing south. The framework beneath its lower right corner is visible. The structure is decorated with Civil War scenes, including the battle between the ironclads, the Monitor and Merrimack, as well as cavalry scene. Eagles and stars are posted on each corner of the structure, and it is draped with garlands. A horse-drawn streetcar passes beneath it, and many horse buggies and wagons are stopped near it. On the right are a moonlight tower, and the building housing Hanshaw and Cohen, Signs and Clarke and Readon, Printers.
