- May Yamaoka, a survivor of the Hiroshima atomic bombing, says that she was born in Lodi, California, went to Japan to attend school and was called an 'enemy' by her classmates after the war began. She also talks of finding her sister in a pile of corpses after the bombing and about returning to the U.S. after the war and being interviewed by American newspapers soon after her arrival.
