- This tan paper envelope contained a 4-page letter written by James E. Scripps, President of the Evening News Association. The front of the envelope is entitled in handwritten text, "A Prophecy for Deetroit as a Metropolis by James E. Scripps." A handwritten note in the lower left corner shows "Not to be opened till Dec. 31 AD 2000."

- Envelope, pre-printed with the return address of Herbert L. Baker's Law Office, at 70 Griswold Street, addressed to James E. Scripps, Esquire, of 598 Trumbull Avenue. The envelope is canceled July, 23, 1886, and bears a brown George Washington 2ยข stamp. The envelope has been torn on three sides, and the inside has been used to record handwritten notes about the founding of the Dominican monks.
