It reads, "Office of the Street Car Employes' Association, 56 and 57 Kanter Building, Detroit Mich., Oct. 14, 1893. GRAND RALLY. TO ALL STREET CAR MEN OF DETROIT, There will be a Meeting of the Street Car Employes of Detroit, at Fraternity Hall, at 12 o'clock Tonight, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1893. The handbill is printed in black text on yellowed paper and is entitled "The Tax-Payers', Business Men's and Workingmen's Candidate. For Reform in Municipal Government. Hazen S. Pingree, The Republican Nominee for Mayor." The inside pages give biographical information about the candidate, his service in the Civil War, his shoe business, a list of prominent supporters, and his letter of acceptance as mayoral nominee.
