The Van Hoosen Farm in Stoney Creek Village was home to the Taylor and Van Hoosen families, dating back to 1823. Alice Serrell was a close friend and employee of Dr. Sarah Van Hoosen Jones, who managed her family's farm from 1927 to 1952.
