- Don tells of being hired in 1962 at Flint Chevrolet, AC Spark Plug and describes his first years and Army service. He talks about his educational accomplishments and entering skilled trades in 1982. Don explains why he declined to go on management several times and why he has always respected the union. He comments on the Flint strikes, wildcats, the differences between Flint and Lansing, UAW-management relations differences, females in skilled trades, and the 1984 change to small cars in Lansing.

- In the second of two oral history interviews, Olga "Jo" Beltrame and her husband Ed Beltrame discuss their careers as union organizers for the United Packinghouse Workers Organizing Committee (later called the Amalgamated Meat Cutters Union). They talk about organizing the meat processing plants in Detroit, efforts to integrate the workforce at local restaurants, people thinking that childcare centers for workers were "socialist", organizing drives at packing plants in the South, the House Un-American Activities Committee, and management's exploitation of female workers. The Beltrames also talk about the efforts to organize Wolverine Worldwide in Michigan and the very difficult time they had. The couple says that they retired from organizing in 1974 and that unionism bettered their lives and the lives of millions of workers around the world. The Beltrames are interviewed by John Revitte, Michigan State University professor of Labor and Industrial Relations. The second of two interviews.

- Clayton tells of learning HVAC in the Navy and describes installing an HVAC system in Fisher. He describes the relationship between the VFW Post and Fisher, helping many of the Vets working at Fisher, selling chicken dinners to Fisher workers on Friday nights, and being frequented by workers for drinks before and after work. Clayton also performed work at the UAW Black Lake center and comments on the plane crash that killed the Reuthers.

- Alexis Ghorai describes his youth in Lansing, Michigan, finding high school less than challenging, but being motivated and succeeding at the University of Michigan. He also talks about his relationship with his parents, his decision to join the Navy when his parents divorced, and the conflict he feels between his liberal leanings and doing his duty as ordered. He speculates about having a family while in the Navy and then concludes by talking about his life at college, concentrating on his studies, his social life and the stresses between being a kid and being a responsible student.

- Russell Alberts talks about working at REO Motor Car Company, in Lansing, MI, from 1928 to 1939. Alberts describes conditions in the plant, his jobs, pay, benefits, and hours, before unionization and the great strides made by workers after the big labor strike of 1937 and the Lansing Labor Holiday. He also talks about the REO Clubhouse, the radio station, REO products and making experimental vehicles for the American military. Alberts' wife, Eva Alberts, describes her work in the REO Navy Department during the war and both discuss an accidental death in the plant and the safety issues which plagued the manufacturer for decades. The interviewer is Shirley Bradley. Recorded as part of the REO Memories oral history project.

- Description:
- Third hearing on the Flint water crisis held before the U.S. House Oversight and Governmental Reform Committee. Testimony is heard from Gina McCarthy, of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Michigan Governor Rick Snyder. Snyder acknowledges failures by Michigan government says that the emergency financial manager system failed in Flint, but blames the EPA and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) for covering up the crisis. McCarthy says that no one at the EPA did anything wrong and that they of the EPA staff involved did what they could to prevent and later solve the crisis. McCarthy also blames Flint's emergency manager for switching the water source and the State of Michigan for not requiring the use of corrosion control chemicals. Committee members challenge both McCarthy's and Snyder's testimony and several members call on both Snyder and McCarthy to resign.

- In this installment of "Cross examination," Dr. Willis Dunbar hosts a discussion of displaced persons with a panel featuring John Reid of the Family Service Center, Rev. Yannis Laupmanitz, attorney Lloyd Faling, and attorney Frank Schmiege. The panel talks about the reasons for the large number of displaced persons in the post war era, the demographic make up of the displaced persons camps, the Displaced Person Act of 1948, proposed amendments to the Act and the effect it has has had on Michigan and the Kalamazoo area.

- Sam recounts being born in Little Rock, AR, graduating high school in Kansas City, MO. and being hired at Fisher in February 1969. Sam describes the Body Shop as hot, dirty, and smoky. By contrast Sam says Trim Shop was paradise. He was drafted into U.S. Army after three months at Fisher and accrued seniority while he served. Sam talks about his union involvement, Black Men in Unions, service as Recreation and Conservation chair, and the Local 602 picnic.
