A horse-drawn wagon, pedestrians, and dogs are in the streets. Several storefronts have been given legible signs: "F. and C.H. Buhl," " McCormick and Moon, Hats and Caps," St. Paul's Episcopal Church, First Presbyterian Church, and Ste. Anne's Catholic Church are all visible in the background. "Copyright 1883 by Silas Farmer" printed in lower left corner. An illegible signature, presumably that of the artist William A. Raymond, is printed at the lower right. Image is mounted on heavy green cardstock.

In addition to the GAGE, a pair of smaller sailboats and a canoe are in the foreground. "S. Farmer" is printed in the lower left, and a blacked out signature is printed in the lower right.
