- The First Presbyterian Church was located at the corner of Allegan and Capitol Avenues. The bell tower had not been built yet in the early twenties, when this photo was taken. This building was torn down when the new one was built on Ottawa Street. The Congregational Church built in 1896 can be seen in the background. The image has been hand tinted. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection.

Behind it are seen the Roosevelt Hotel, St. Mary's Cathedral, and Ferris Towers apartments. Partially obstructed to the right is the First Baptist Church. Part of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church is to the left in the photo.

- Photo taken from the front of the Michigan State Capitol. Across West Ottawa Street, running along the north side of the State Capitol, is the Carr Medical Clinic on the west, or left, side of Seymour Street. St. Paul's Episcopal Church is on the east, or right, side of Seymour Street. St. Mary's Cathedral is seen in the background.

- This church was built in 1852 on North Washington Avenue at Genesee Street, the first church structure in Lansing. Its bell was purchased by church women in 1856, and was used for the official town clock and warning bell.

- One of Lansing's earliest church buildings, this Baptist church located at the corner of Capitol Avenue and Ionia Street was dedicated in 1859. It was replaced by the congregation in 1894 by a Romanesque-style building.
