- Description:
- This collection consists of approximately 1,300 photographs from Lansing's City Planning Division, taken between 1912 and 1995, with the majority dating from the 1950s. It includes houses, street scenes, intersections, parking lots, signage, and some aerial views. The photographs were taken from the perspective of urban planning in most cases, so for example, a photograph of the Farm & Garden building is actually a view of cars in a parking lot behind it. Urban infrastructure seems to be the predominant purpose of the photographic documentation, which was sorted into volumes of approximately 100 images per volume, by Forest Parke Library and Archives staff.

- Description:
- This ledger is some type of street-related tax or property assessment record for the years 1902 to 1908 in the city of Lansing. Pages are divided into alphabetically-tabbed sections, and street names have been written in. The actual records include a resident or owner's name, some numbers which may be the measurement of street frontage of the property, dates for "1st" and "2nd" (possibly taxes paid dates), and the legal description of each property. Pasted into the back of the book is a chart dated May 1, 1905, listing the six wards of the city and categories Stone, Plank, Brick, and Tar with totaled measurements.

The material is mainly divided by parcel number, or at least the first few digits of standard parcel numbers such as "3301-08," and seems to be records of city property such as park land and right-of-ways. Some microfiche sleeves contain filmed maps and subdivision drawings. Most is undated but where dates are present almost all are from June of 1982. Contact the library for more information or to access the materials.
