The Burns Motel, a cafe, the Garland, Schroeder Paint and Glass Company, and Hotel Wobrock are along the businesses along Cadillac Square. Pedestrians, several brass-era automobiles, and electric streetcars are in the street. The photo appears to have been produced from an earlier photo as its rough edges are in frame. The Merrill Fountain, the bust of Governor John Judson Bagley, a tent labeled "War Camp Community Service," pedestrians, automobiles, small buses, and electric streetcars are visible in Campus Martius. Along Monroe Street in the background are the Ste. Clair Hotel, Garry's Clothes Shop, the Palace Theatre, the National Theatre, Dr. Pilmore's Dentists, and the other pool halls, and loan offices of the Monroe Block.
