- Muskegon Fire Department Hose Company No. 2 on Webster Avenue and Seventh Street in the 1880s. Originally named the C.H. Hackley No. 2 Volunteers and C.H. Hackley No. 2 Hose Company. Driver John Ellens is sitting on a horse drawn hose cart. The horses are Billy and Jim. Standing Left to right is Captain Alec Ferguson, Peter Didier, James McCullom, John DeGilleke, and Charles Harting or John Didier. Produced by the W.J. Brinen Lumber Company, May 1, 1945.

- Description:
- Black and white glossy print of an earlier photograph that shows eight firemen who are seated on or standing beside a horse-drawn steam fire engine. The steam engine has been decorated for President Lincoln's funeral march which was held in Detroit on April 25, 1865. The firemen are part of the Phoenix Steam Fire Engine Company No. 3 and the name, "Phoenix," is visible on several of the firemen's belts. The 2-story brick fire station and several wood-frame houses can be seen in the background.

- Description:
- Firemen's Fund Association membership certificate, printed by the Detroit Lithographic Office, and issued to George W. Cook on November 9, 1889. The document bears the signatures of President John Kendall, Treasurer James A. Elliott, and Secretary John E. Quick. Illustrations of a firefighter speaking into a bugle, as two other firefighters hold a hose, as well as of a team of firefighters riding in an early self-propelled steam-driven fire engine are on the left side of the certificate. The certificate is mounted on linen.

- Sepia-toned photo of five firemen on a ladder who are fighting a fire. The base of the ladder is located on a fire truck and the top of the ladder has been set to access a window on the top floor of a 4-story brick building. A firehose can be seen along the length of the ladder. One fireman is located at the base of the ladder, another is midway, and three are at the top with the firehose. A sign on the front of the building indicates that a dental office is located inside although the name of the business is partly obscured by the ladder.

- Sepia-toned, head and shoulders cabinet card portrait of a fireman. Badge on cap reads "200." Handwritten note on verso identifies subject as John O'Neill. The bottom of the photo is cut off, but likely originally bore a border that read "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave, Detroit," matching others in this collection.

- Mounted sepia-toned group portrait photograph of twelve uniformed firefighters posed outside in front of a brick wall. Six men sit in chairs in the front, and six stand behind them. The fifth seated man from the left is identified as Engineer William Mauron[?]. Mauron and the two men to his left all have bugle insignia on their collars indicating their ranks. The photo is mounted on black mat board. "Geo. E. Ash, 452 Junction Ave." is printed on the verso.
