Behind it are seen the Roosevelt Hotel, St. Mary's Cathedral, and Ferris Towers apartments. Partially obstructed to the right is the First Baptist Church. Part of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church is to the left in the photo.

- Other highlights beside State buildings include Lansing Civic Center, Olds/Jack Tar Hotel, Federal Building/Post Office. View, looking in a southwesterly direction, includes part of downtown, extends to Oldsmobile factories to the south, beyond Logan Street (Martin Luther King Boulevard) to the west, and Ionia Street to the north. A rubberstamp imprint "File Copy" partly obscures the Lewis Cass Building. On the reverse is the creator's file number 5125A and the date, December 26, 1969.

- Beginning with the Tussing Building on the right, the Ingham County Building is next. Next is the Lansing Woman's Club building with first-floor occupant First Church of Christ Scientist Reading Room. Michigan Millers Mutual Fire Insurance Company building is next with its first floor occupant, People's Finance Service. The last building in the block was known as the Cahill Building at the time of the photograph. The Cahill Building actually had 200 North Capitol Avenue as its address. City Planning Division staff annotated the print.
