View looking northeast features features seating for 300 students, marble fireplace, paintings donated by the local art collector A.M. Todd including the notable “Yosemite Valley” by Thomas Hill, and recessed wall shelving. The Reading Room was designed by Henry H. Turner and Victor E. Thebaud Architects in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The image appeared in the book Kalamazoo Lost and Found by Kalamazoo Historian Lynn Houghton.

- Booklet titled the “Catalogue of Pictures in the Western State Normal School Library” loaned from the collection of Albert M. Todd, 1925. The booklet is 31 pages including cover. The booklet contains a foreward by Librarian Anna L. French, black-and-white illustration of select artworks, and a description of each artwork including bibliography of the original artist and provenance. Booklet contains some French.
