- "Townsend Street School was built in 1904 to replace the Ward Two School, razed at that site. The Board of Education and administration used the building from 1926 to 1953 when it was razed. The site became a parking lot." Photograph hand-tinted by Carl Dalrymple.

V. programs. The pupils were valuable in setting up projectors and assisting teachers with projection and at the same time they learned responsibility and citizenship traits."

Other businesses seen are Rich's Bar, Klose-Out Kelly's Discount Bargain Center, the Senate Grill, and the F. J. Pliska musical instrument repair shop. The Capitol Theatre was remodeled in 1961.
