Schattschneider talks about the role of women in wartime Japan, the role of feminized labor and the commodification of emotion during this period. Keller specifically talks about a group of 100 young women in southern Japan during the final months of WWII whose jobs were to keep Kamikaze pilots company. She answers questions from the audience. The event is convened by Professor John P. Beck from the Michigan State University School of Human Resources and Labor Relations.
