The drawing consists of black and red ink on linen and shows a plan view of the proposed cabin layout for the wooden-hulled, propeller-driven, passenger steamships. The plan was prepared at a scale of 1/4 inch = 1 foot by Frank E. Kirby for the Detroit Dry Dock Company and is dated May, 1882. - One blueprint drawing entitled "Str. City of Cleveland, No. 71." The drawing shows a plan view of the main deck and locations of electric lights for the proposed steamship. The title block at the top center area of the sheet shows that the plan was prepared at a scale of 1/4 inch. (The ship was later renamed. It was the SS City of St. Ignace from 1907 to 1927 and was the SS Keystone from 1927 to 1932.)

- One sepia-toned photograph of the passenger ferry, SS Columbia, in dry dock at the Detroit Dry Dock Company. The view shows a starboard side stern view of the hull and main deck. Many workmen are standing on deck and several structural columns have been set in place for future completion of the upper decks and cabin structures. A large rudder and 4-blade propeller can be seen below the waterline. A trestle and gantry crane are visible in the left background area of the shipyard. Open water and a distant shoreline are visible to the right.
