- Located at 114 North Grand Avenue. Photo shows red flames roaring in the night outlining the Hotel Kerns fire of December 11, 1934, in which at least thirty-four people were known dead. Here a section of the front wall buckles as firemen at the lower right back away.

To the right, the Estes-Leadley funeral home is seen.

City Planning Division staff trimmed two photographs for assembly into composite views. The images do not match perfectly; gaps have intentionally been left in the composition shown. City Planning Division staff placed sequential numbers at the bottom of each piece: "F30" and "F29".
