- Receipt from John S. Bagg, Postmaster, Detroit Post Office, for newspaper postage in the amount of 25 cents from January 1 to March 31, 1847, paid by Mr. D. J. Campeau. The receipt form is printed in black text on very yellowed paper which has a brown stain along the bottom edge.

It was printed in black text on white paper and indicated that Richmond & Backus Company paid $182.57 for various city taxes on "Personal Property." The receipt, No. 1565, was signed by "T.R. Cumings, Receiver of Taxes."

- One receipt, dated January 15, 1868, issued by the "Treasurer's Office, Detroit & Howell R.R.Co." It was printed in black text on white paper and indicated that Richmond & Backus Company paid $25 for an assessment on five shares which they owned in the railroad company. The receipt, No. 88, was signed by the company treasurer. A two-cent U.S. Internal Revenue stamp has been affixed to the left side of the receipt and has a blue ink stamp dated "Jan. 16, 1868." The stamp features a red and white engraved design with a bust of George Washington at the center.

The receipt was signed by "James Collins, D. [Deputy] County Treasurer."
