Julia Colt Larned is depicted in a light-colored dress sitting on a chair in the back. Jane Hereford Larned kneels in front of Julia, wearing a darker colored dress, with a bonnet hung on her back. Sylvester Larned and Catherine Jones Larned are seated on the floor in the foreground playing chess.

- Black and white photo taken overlooking a bicycle race, and the gathered spectators along Belle Isle's Central Avenue, as viewed from an elevated position overlooking a round traffic island. Men and women are gathered along the avenue, creating a narrow central aisle, where blurred bicyclists are visible. - Postcard. Color illustration of the Ambassador Bridge. Front reads, "Ambassador Bridge, Windsor Canada to Detroit, U.S.A." Back reads, "The Ambassador Bridge is the longest suspension bridge in the world, and connects Detroit, Mich. and Windsor, Canada. Its dimensions are; length on main span 1,850 feet, total length 2 miles. The height over the river is 152 feet. Because the card refers to the bridge as the "longest suspension bridge in the world" we know that the card was printed between 1929, when the bridge was completed, and 1931 when the record was taken over by the George Washington Bridge.
