- Paola Doyle was raised in Oak Park and Oakbrook, Illinois and spent her childhood summers in Saugatuck. In this interview, Paola remembers visiting her grandparents' cottage near Mt. Baldhead during the summers as a child, and bringing her own children to Saugatuck during the summers as an adult.

One holds her hands over her ears, one looks at his hands, and the other looks at the boy while holding something in his right hand. On the back, "Don Heuchan Jul 4 1954 St. Louis" is stamped in red. Below that, “BUZ MARY CHARLIE + Johnny Dempsey” and “Heuchen kids cottage AT 109 Lakeshore” are written with irregular capitalization.

- Correspondence from John Bennitt of Centreville, Michigan to his wife Charlotte, June 11, 1863. During this time, Bennitt leaves Nashville, Tennessee to rejoin Rosecrans_s Army of the Cumberland as it begins the Tullahome campaign against Bragg_s Confederates. Bennitt is promoted to regiment surgeon and is stationed in Murfreesboro. He reports on camp life, condition of patients, and local and national news. This group of letters is transcribed and footnoted in Chapter 4 of I Hope to Do My Country Service.
