- Sam recounts being born in Little Rock, AR, graduating high school in Kansas City, MO. and being hired at Fisher in February 1969. Sam describes the Body Shop as hot, dirty, and smoky. By contrast Sam says Trim Shop was paradise. He was drafted into U.S. Army after three months at Fisher and accrued seniority while he served. Sam talks about his union involvement, Black Men in Unions, service as Recreation and Conservation chair, and the Local 602 picnic.

- Marian Cyberski talks about her service in the U.S. Army Nurse Corp during World War Two and says that she was inspired to enlist after seeing the movie "The shores of Tripoli." Cyberski talks about being stationed at field hospitals in Rockhampton, Indooroopilly, and Brisbane, Australia, treating mostly malaria and battle fatigue patients, and originally shipping out to Australia on the luxury liner SS Lurline. She also talks about her daily life in Australia, vacationing in Sydney, leaving Australia on a ship which contained many Australian war brides and crying babies, arriving home in September 1945, and getting married in November to a man whom she had met as a patient.

- Robert Brenner, former regional director for the Allied Industrial Workers (AIW) Region 7 in west Michigan, talks about his family and early life in Battle Creek, MI, playing professional baseball, enlisting in the Army Air Corps in August 1942 and serving in the Southwest Pacific. He also talks about his union organizing efforts, working his way up in leadership positions, and serving as a labor representative on several state boards and commissions including, the State Board of Canvassers and the Occupational Health and Safety Commission. Ends abruptly. Brenner is interviewed by Labor and Industrial Relations professor John Revitte.

- Rachel Babcock recalls her service as a radio operator with the U.S. Navy WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service) during World War Two. Babcock talks about the transition to basic training from teaching in a country school in Ingham County, Michigan, serving on a blimp base in Georgia, the culture shock of color-segregated facilities in the south, hitchhiking to the beach on weekends, and how civilians would frequently pay for meals for service members. She also talks about her post-military life, enrolling at Michigan State University, teaching in Lansing, MI, and the role of women in the American military.

- Hmong immigrant and former soldier Tom Vue discusses emigrating from Laos to the U.S. via a camp in Thailand. He discusses taking command of 1200 troops in the rain forests of Laos after Hmong General Vang Pao emigrated to the US in 1975. Vue talks about their defeat by the communists in 1977 and his flight from Laos to Thailand. He also speaks about coming to Lansing, MI with his family and working in social services as a translator and refugee interviewer.

- Dr. William Strampel D.O., Dean of the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, talks about his youth, education and career in the military, medicine and academia. Strampel says that he was drafted into the U.S. Army, served in Vietnam and later re-enlisted and pursued a career in military medicine which included serving in the Army's Special Forces Group One and commanding the Fort Riley Hospital. He came to MSU in 1999 and says that he quickly impressed the university administration with his budget and financial expertise and was made Dean of the College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2002. Strampel also talks about the growth in the College during his tenure and the lessons he has learned over his long career. Strampel is interviewed by MSU History Professor Emeritus Charles Gliozzo for the Michigan State University Faculty Emeriti Association Oral History Project.

- Clare Rounsevell Ellinwood talks about her service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War One as a civilian secretary and says that she volunteered because her fiance had joined the French Army Ambulance Corp. She talks about working in a hospital in Philadelphia, being shipped to Brest, France on the USS Leviathan, traveling by train to the front, and finally being sent to a base near Vichy. She describes how the hospitals were set up, the constant shortage of food, and the utter devastation of the European battlefields. Ellinwood also recalls Armistice Day and the great celebration, and returning to the U.S. in 1919 to marry the man she had followed to France. Ellinwood says that in spite of the many hardships, her service overseas gave her a chance to do things she otherwise would not have gotten an opportunity to do. Ellinwood is interviewed by Margaret E. Duncan.

- Lillian Kivela talks about her service in the United States Army Nurse Corps during World War Two including, why she enlisted in June 1943, nurse's training, basic Army training, housing, uniforms, and her duties at the Schick General Hospital in Clinton, Iowa. She says that she was sent to New Jersey in preparation for being shipped to Europe and describes shipboard conditions and being seasick throughout the entire ten-day voyage. She talks about being housed in an unheated Welsh resort hotel, marching, walking a mile to the mess hall for meals, serving in the orthopedic ward at a hospital in Headington, a suburd of Oxford and experiencing an influx of patients following D-Day and the subsequent fighting, and the early use of penicillin to control infection. In her off-time, Kivela says that she often visited London for the theater, rode her bicycle around Oxford, became acquainted with British families and even met the Queen Mother and boxer Joe Louis when they visited the hospital. Back in the States, after the war, she says that she had a difficult time adjusting to civilian life and finally came to Michigan State College to finish her degree in microbiology. Kivela is interviewed by Elsie Hornbacher.
