- Certificate, mounted on board, naming Ross Wilkins to the position of Trustee of the University of Michigan, signed by Stevens T. Mason on November 25th, 1834. The text of the document is as follows: "Stevens T. Mason, Secretary & at present acting Governor in and over the Territory of Michigan, To all to whom these presents may come, Greeting: Know ye, That reposing special trust and confidence in the integrity and ability of Ross Wilkins I have nominated, and by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council of the said Territory, have appointed him Trustee of the University of Michigan And I do hereby authorize and empower him to execute and fulfill the duties of that office according to law : to have and to hold the said office, with all the rights, privileges, and emoluments thereunto belonging, during the pleasure of the Governor of the said Territory, for the time being. In testimony whereof, I have caused these Letters to be made Patent, and the Great Seal of the said Territory to be hereunto affixed. Given under my Hand, at Detroit, this twenty fifth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty four and of the Independence of the United States of America the fifty ninth. By the Governor: Stevens T. Mason Secretary of Michigan Territory, and at present Acting Governor."

- Vaccination certificate issued to Felix McWilliams by the Health Committee of the Common Council of the City of Detroit. The certificate is signed by R.L. Smith of the Committee on Health. The certificate's header depicts a cow standing atop a serpent, beneath the Latin phrase, "terroribus spoliatus." The certificate is mounted on a linen backing, with the year 1850 handwritten on the verso.

- Certificate appointing Charles Trowbridge to the position of Notary Public in and for the County of Wayne, signed by Lewis Cass, Governor, and William Woodbridge, Secretary, in 1826. The document is stamped with the great seal of the Michigan Territory. "Lewis Cass, Governor in and over the Territory of Michigan, To all to whome these Presents may come, Greeting: Know Ye, That, reposing special trust and confidence in the integrity and ability of Charles Trowbridge Esquire I have nominated, and by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council of the said Territory have appointed him a Notary Public in and of the County of Wayne And I do hereby authorize and empower him to execute and fulfill the duties of that office according to the law: To have and to hold the said Office, with all the rights, privileges, and emoluments thereunto belonging, during the pleasure of the Governor of the said Territory, for the time being. Kearsley, Justices of the Peace, reading as follows: "Territory of Michigan County of Wayne: I Charles C. Trowbridge, do solemnly swear, that I will faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of a Notary Public for the County of Wayne, during my continuance in this office, according to the best of my abilities, so help me God. C. Trowbridge Be it known that on the 30th November 1826, before me the undersigned Justice of the Peace for the County of Wayne, personally appeared Charles C. Trowbridge above named, and in my presence took and subscribed the foregoing oath. James Abbots Justice of the Peace Territory of Michigan County of Wayne: I Charles C. Trowbridge do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution of the United States so help me God. C. Trowbridge Sworn and Subscribed before me Dec. 14 1826 J. Kearsley Justice of the Peace Wayne County I Charles C. - Large certificate, printed on heavy cardstock, issued by the Medical Department of the Army of the United States on March 1, 1924 to Harper Hospital, recognizing the hospital's "support of the national defense program... and patriotism by organizing and fostering a General Hospital as a unit of the Organized Reserves of the Army of the united States." The certificate is stamped with the gold seal of the National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution. Text of the certificate is as follows: "The National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution hereby presents a medal of honor to compatriot Russell A. Alger in recognition of his patriotic service during the War with Spain in 1898. By resolution of the Annual Congress of the Society, at Detroit, Michigan, May 1st, 1899." The certificate is then signed by the President General, the Secretary General, and the Registrar General.

Blaine on April 15th, 1889. The certificate is affixed with the seal of the United States Department of State. The full text of the certificate is as follows: "Department of State To all to whom these Presents shall come, Greeting: I Certify That, satisfactory evidence having been exhibited of the appointment of Joseph Belanger as Consular Agent of France, at Detroit, Michigan, the President of the United States of America has ordered his recognition as such officer, declaring him free to exercise and enjoy such functions, powers, and privileges as are allowed to the Consular Agent of the most favored Nations in the United States. In testimony whereof I, James G. Blaine, Secretary of State of the United States, have hereunto subscribed my name and caused the seal of the Department of State to be affixed. Done at the City of Washington this 15th day of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-nine, and the 113th year of the Independence of the United States of America. James G. Blaine"
