The elevated view looks northward along Woodward Avenue with the Old City Hall and Majestic Building on the left side of the image and Campus Martius and the Soldiers and Sailors Monument to the right. Pedestrians, streetcars, and several horse-drawn carriages are also visible. The Detroit Opera House and Wonderland Vaudeville can be seen in the right background. The number, "228," is printed near the lower right corner of the image. Printed text on the verso shows "Made in Germany. A. C. Besselman & Co., New York." The date of the postcard is based upon the postmark date.

- One postcard with a sepia-toned photographic image of the Grand Circus Park area of downtown Detroit. The postcard shows an elevated view of Grand Circus Park as seen from the Y.M.C.A. Building. Prominent buildings are visible in the background and are identified in small white printed text along the bottom of the postcard. These include the Whitney Building, Hotel Statler, Hotel Tuller, and the Kresge Building. Additional small white printed text in the lower right corner of the card reads "© '14 by C. R. Messinger." A black ink stamp on the verso shows a postmark of "Sep. 3, 1914."

In addition to the driver, a firefighter sits in the front of the engine while another holds onto the rear. The photo was taken near Park Street and Woodward Avenue, facing north. Central United Methodist Church, and the Hotel Wolverine are visible in the background. "Photo by Straghota" printed in lower left. The verso has extensive handwritten notes: 1920 Last Run at corner of Woodward & Adams Ave. Methodist Church in background & Wolverine Hotel also in background.
