- Description:
- Postcard. Color illustration of the Ambassador Bridge as seen from Windsor, Ontario, Canada looking towards Detroit, Michigan. Front reads, "Ambassador Bridge, Windsor Canada to Detroit, U.S.A., Copyrighted By American Commercial Photo Co., Detroit." Back reads, "Ambassador Bridge. The World's Longest Suspension Bridge. Length Main Span--1850 feet. Total Length--2 miles. Height over river--152 feet. Each Cable--8066 wires." Because the bridge is referred to as the "World's Longest" it can be inferred the card was made between 1929, when the bridge was completed, and 1931, when the George Washington Bridge overtook the record.
