- Rocky recalls moving to Lansing at age 15 from Kentucky and being hired in June 1963, working ten and eleven hour shifts, participating in a wildcat strike in 1966 over gloves and receiving discipline. Rocky joined management in 1968 and discusses his relations with UAW officials. He built a replica of the Fisher Coach for a parade. Rocky comments on being transferred to Oldsmobile in 1985 following the corporate reorganization to BOC.

- Native-American author Heid Erdrich describes a student writing contest she judged earlier in the day and then reads from her first book of poetry. Erdrich also reflects on her family and life as a member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Ojibway and describes influences on her writing from classic literature to tabloid headlines. Erdrich reads selections from her work that portray the tension between her Ojibway traditions and her German-American upbringing and concludes by revealing the winners of the writing contest. Erdrich is introduced by MSU Professor of English Gordon Henry. Part of the Michigan State University Libraries' Michigan Writers Series.

- Dr. Donald Kaufman discusses his career as a Professor of Immunology in the Department of Pediatrics and Human Development at Michigan State University. Kaufman describes joining the department in 1971, knowing little about MSU and East Lansing, but welcoming the freedom to work as he wished. He talks about his many interests, pursuing several projects simultaneously and eventually specializing in health care policy. Kaufman recalls the efforts to establish a true university hospital at MSU and how the plan was rejected by the University administration. Kaufman also talks about teaching, his students, his colleagues, and his department's many challenges and accomplishments throughout his tenure. David J. Kallen, MSU Professor Emeritus of Sociology, conducts the interview. Part of the MSU Department of Pediatrics and Human Development Oral History Project.

- Broadcaster Fred Douglas presents "Fifty years of news in Western Michigan," a special celebrating the founding of WKZO Radio in 1931 and highlighting many of the stories the station has covered. He narrates radio pieces that show the changing landscape of southwestern Michigan as it experienced the Great Depression, World War II, Vietnam, and other historical turmoil. Clips range from Dr. Willis Dunbar interviewing a local worker at the Clarage Fan Company to news coverage of the devastating snowstorms of 1967 and 1978.

- Russell Alberts talks about working at REO Motor Car Company, in Lansing, MI, from 1928 to 1939. Alberts describes conditions in the plant, his jobs, pay, benefits, and hours, before unionization and the great strides made by workers after the big labor strike of 1937 and the Lansing Labor Holiday. He also talks about the REO Clubhouse, the radio station, REO products and making experimental vehicles for the American military. Alberts' wife, Eva Alberts, describes her work in the REO Navy Department during the war and both discuss an accidental death in the plant and the safety issues which plagued the manufacturer for decades. The interviewer is Shirley Bradley. Recorded as part of the REO Memories oral history project.

Panelists are: Adam Montri, owner of Ten Hens Farm in Bath; Nina Santucci, co-owner of Red Haven Restaurant and the Purple Carrot Food Truck; Jason R. Blastic, executive chef at the Soup Spoon Cafe. The panelists describe their farm and restaurant operations, partnerships between restaurant and farm, opportunities for sourcing locally, business philosophies, environmental and economic sustainability, and how they seasonally adjust their production and menus. - John E. Fetzer, managing director of the Fetzer Broadcasting Company and the owner of radio stations WKZO and WJEF, dedicates the WJEF station in Grand Rapids, MI. Fetzer laments that the technologies developed after World War I which promised to ensure peace were turned to war, and notes that radio has been turned to the service of propaganda to spread fear and dissension. Fetzer says that radio in America must strive to be a democratic method of communication and a way to keep citizens informed by hearing the voices of their public officials. He dedicates WJEF as a tool for democracy and a medium for communication, education, and public service in Grand Rapids.

- Lora Bex Lempert, professor emerita of Sociology and Women's and Gender Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, delivers a talk entitled "Eating the life sentence elephant : one bite at a time." Lempert describes her research into how women, incarcerated for life in Michigan prisons, cope pragmatically and creatively with their sentences by constructing meaningful lives inside prison.
