- Large sepia-toned photograph taken of the ceremonial final run of a horse-drawn Detroit Fire Department fire apparatus on April 10, 1922. Three uniformed firefighters riding on a fire engine being drawn by a team of three horses south along Woodward Avenue, as taken from the west side of Woodward south of Grand River Avenue. The Shaw Building and Rayl's Hardware stand in the background. Spectators line the sidewalk, and peer through the windows overlooking the street. The photo is mounted on linen.

- Business card of William P. Wenner, Pipeman of Fire Steamer Company No. 6. The card is printed with a red background image of a horse-drawn fire engine. The name, "Samuel Hawman," is handwritten on the verso. This card was contained in the lead box time capsule that was removed from the Old City Hall on May 25, 1961.

- Description:
- Detroit Fire Department active duty certificate engraved by Capewell and Kimmel and dated July 17, 1855. The spaces for the name of the firefighter has been left blank. The document bears the signatures of President Jerome Croul, Treasurer Alexander Paton, and Secretary Benjamin Vernor, beside a blue embossed Fire Department of the City of Detroit seal. Illustrations of uniformed firefighters, an early fire apparatus and firefighting equipment, the seal of the State of Michigan, and Neptune flanked by two winged monsters are bordered by scrollwork. The certificate is mounted on linen.

The poster is mounted on linen and is missing approximately three inches at the bottom, where the text of Act No. 146 concerning labeling flammable goods, as well a the name of Fire Marshall William H. - Sepia-toned cabinet card photo showing the head and shoulders of a fireman. He appears to be seated and is wearing a dress uniform that consists of a double-breasted coat and hat. The hat badge and coat badge both show the number, "220." The name of the photographic studio is printed in gold-colored ink on the bottom of the photo: "Smith, 244 Woodward Avenue, Detroit." Handwriting on the verso shows "#17" and "Captain Richard Filban; Alert H & L [Hook & Ladder] #3, 1881; killed at Ferry Seed."

- Mounted and retouched sepia-toned photo taken of three firefighters riding in a horse-drawn fire engine, presumably Engine Company No. 9, as taken from a three-quarters angle ahead of the apparatus' right side. Two men sit in the front, and the third is in the back. A team of three horses pull the engine. A fence runs along the sidewalk in the background. A building with a steeple stands in the distance at the upper left. The photo has been retouched in grey and peach-colored paint to outline the horses and the engine, and a horizontal black line has been drawn beneath the engine.

- Half-folded letter and form distributed by a committee appointed by the Board of Trustees of the Fire Department, and dated January 14, 1852, soliciting the public for works of art to be displayed in Firemen's Hall, opening February 2, 1852. The committee requests "paintings in oil or water," "drawings," "choice engravings and lithographs," "statuary and sculpture," "small specimens of mechanic arts," and "embroidery and needle work." The inner page contains a form where interested parties list available works of art, the artist who created them, and where the artist lived when creating them. The members of the committee are listed as James A. Van Dyke, George Foote, Robert E. Roberts, P.C. Higgins, Joseph J. Rhodes, B. Briody, Edmond A. Brush, Robert W. Kind, Lucretius H. Cobb, Stanley G. Wright, and W.A. Bacon. This copy was purportedly sent to Joseph Campau.

- Firemen's Fund Association membership certificate, printed by the Detroit Lithographic Office, and issued to James R. Elliott on March 16, 1866. The document bears the signatures of President John Hyland, Treasurer James A. Elliott, and Secretary John Kendall, beside a green adhesive embossed Firemen's Fund Association seal. Illustrations of a firefighter speaking into a bugle, as two other firefighters hold a hose, as well as of a team of firefighters riding in an early self-propelled steam-driven fire engine are on the left side of the certificate. The certificate is mounted on linen.
