- Breakfast menu card from the Hotel Pontchartrain, dated February 15, 1918. The recto lists fruit, beverages, cereals, eggs, oysters, fish, specials, and potatoes. The verso declares that the hotel is a member of the United States Food Administration, and urges the conservation of food for the war effort. Additionally, a disclaimer on the verso cautions that the management declines responsibility to damage to clothing caused by accidents in the dining room.

- Color postcard depicting a view down Jefferson Avenue from the intersection of 3rd Street, with the Wayne Hotel, pedestrians, horse-drawn vehicles, and a sign reading "Wines and Spirits" visible. Printed on verso: Wayne Hotel, Detroit, Mich. Looking East on Jefferson, showing The Wayne Hotel is one of the favorite hotels in the city. Located on Jefferson Avenue, Cor. 3rd, directly across from the Michigan Central Depot. It is on the River Bank and from its windows a fine view of the river traffic is possible in the season. In the summer time, a pavilion, built out to the water's edge, adds to the attractions of the hostelry, which has been for the past twenty years, under the management of J. R. Hayes. Handwritten message on verso, postmarked May 11, 1914.

Soldiers and Sailors Monument built in 1881 at a cost of $70,000. The red building at right is the Hammond Building. The electric sign on top of building is one of the finest in the west and when in action gives a description of the famous Chariot Race of Ben Hur. Several of the things listed are themed around the holiday including Bunker Hill Punch, Philadelphia Squab, Independence Pudding, Columbia Sauce, Liberty Bells, Old Glory Ice Cream, and American Cheese.
