- Description:
- Note on back of photo: "A log cabin, symbol of a by gone day, stood on the site where the Federal Building stood during the first half of the century. The newly constructed City Hall and police wing served as a backdrop for the Centennial events. The razing of the old City Hall progressed during the celebrations. The 40&8 'Train' was entering the picture from the right." This may have been part of the Lansing Centennial of Transportation parade in May 1959 or another of the city's centennial parades that happened that year. Originally part of the Carl Dalrymple Collection.

The photographer George Bonnell operated in Lansing from 1906 to 1931. Gift of Mrs. Gordon Cramer. See second image for names.
