- This collection contains representative photography from several Lansing studios and photographers, mostly dated from the late 19th to mid 20th centuries. The subjects of the photography usually are not identified. The collection was originally assembled by David Caterino, with ongoing additions made by Local History staff from donations and other collection processing. The container list for this collection shows names of all studios and photographers for which photos or studio enclosures are included. Additional information about the studios is taken from the "Directory of Early Michigan Photographers" by David V. Tinder (c. 2013), which indexes photography studios in Michigan from the earliest to 1931.
