- Sepia-toned photo of three employees of the Merchants Credit Bureau--Estelle Koehler, Judie Strandburg, and Marion Maus, as indicated by a handwritten notes on both the recto and verso--kneeling in winter coats of the roof of the Merchants Building, on the east corner of Grand River Avenue and Broadway Avenue. Snow has accumulated on the roof's surfaces. The caption, "Coldest in Six Years," has been handwritten at the bottom of the recto. "1923," is handwritten on the verso. The remnants of stripes used to affix the photo in an album are on the corners.

- Mounted sepia-toned group portrait photograph of seven uniformed firefighters. The original accession record identified two of the men standing in the top row--although it is unclear as two which exactly--as James Shea, and Timothy Callahan, and listed Richard Filbin and John O'Neil as being among the three men seated in the front. The man at the top right wears a helmet and belt identifying him as a member of Continental Company No. 8. He rests his hand on the shoulder of the men seated in front of him who wears a kepi hat and a belt also with the number "8." The two men standing in the center wear matching uniforms including firefighter belts identifying them as belong to one of the rescue companies. The both rest their hands on the shoulder of the man seated below them in the center, who wears a kepi hat, and a firefighter belt, the writing on which, "Stee[...]," is rendered partially illegible by glare. The man on the top right wears a helmet and firefighter belt which identifies him as a member of Neptune Company No. 2. A man with a kepi hat, and a rescue company belt sits in the lower right. Two helmets from Ladder Company No. 1 are positioned on the ground between the seated subjects. The photo is mounted on beige cardstock.

- Cabinet card bearing a sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Detroit Fire Commissioner Lucretius H. Cobb. Handwriting on the verso notes "ex-comm., Lucretius H. Cobb." This photograph is one of a series of eight photos of former Detroit Fire Department Commissioners. The decorative engraved logo of the photographer's studio (Randall) has been torn off of the verso.

- Sepia-toned, head and shoulders cabinet card portrait of a fireman. Badge on cap reads "207." Hand written note on verso identifies him as Thomas Drury. The bottom of the photo is damaged obscuring the photographer's name and address, but likely read "F. Friend, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit," matching others in this collection.

- Mounted, oval-shaped sepia-toned head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of a man with a beard, wearing a suit. Areas of his beard, eyes, and the shadow on his face have been retouched in ink. A handwritten note on the verso suggests that the subject is Detroit Fire Department chief James Battle, however he does not resemble Battle in portraits taken later in his life. A Grelling and Company stamp is impressed near the bottom of the image.

- Sepia-toned photograph of head and shoulders view of a Detroit fireman. The cap badge reads, "DFD 204," and the badge on his lapel reads, "Detroit 204." Noted at the base of the image is the photographer, "Friend & Smith, 244 & 246 Woodward Ave., Detroit." Written on verso, "Dick Brownell." Brownell was a ladderman with the Detroit Fire Department.

- Description:
- Sepia-toned panoramic group portrait composed of two photos pasted together of a gathering of members of the Detroit Goodfellows posed outside of the American Printing Company. The groups is composed of men clad in coats, hats, aprons printed with "For Base Ball Results, The News," and newspaper carrier bags. Snow covers the ground. Signs, one on a post in the foreground and the other on a windowsill in the back, read, "Detroit Christmas Fund. Old News Boys. 'No Kiddie Without a Christmas.'" The foreground sign has been retouched to darken the text. A circled "1" has been drawn beside one of the kneeling men at the lower left. Along with the stamp, "Dec. 20 1922," a list of names has been handwritten on the verso: 1. William A. Guthard 2. John L. Dexter 3. James J. Brady 4. Harry Robinson 5. Nathan Samuels 6.
