- Located at 1028 Barnes Avenue West. Barnes Elementary was constructed in 1919 as a five room building on the corner of Barnes Avenue and Logan Street. It opened in September 1919 and an addition was made in summer of 1920. The school sat on 2.25 acres and had a capacity of 410.
