- Description:
- A photograph of the Walter French Junior High School during construction. The school, at the corner of East Mt. Hope and South Cedar streets, opened in September 1925. Its architect was J. N. Churchill. A cropped version of this photograph appeared on the front page of the Lansing State Journal for September 8, 1925, when the school opened. The photograph was taken earlier in the year while construction was still in progress. A "Reniger Construction Company" sign board can be seen over the main entrance, and landscaping and other work was not yet complete when this photo was taken.
