Abie and Sam Radio Show

Notes:
Radio station WOOD originated a popular feature called Sambo and Abie. The two radio actors are pictured in the studio, seated by a table, with a tall radio microphone standing between them behind the table. “Abie” is dressed in a suit and tie and wears a dark too-large fedora that comes down over his ears. “Sambo” is in black face, with dark gloves, and is wearing a doorman's uniform and cap. Behind the men is a door with a glass panel that reads “219, Radio Station WOOD.” Article and photo in the Grand Rapids Herald, 3/9/1930, p.14.
