Capri; Lamps; Glaze; Clay (unfired)

Notes:

Buff clay with red glaze slightly worn on top. Nozzle sawed off. At base, rudimentary volutes and three stamped cirles between. Two moulded rings about edge of lamp form rim. Air hole in neck between inner and outer ring. Central filling hole, sea monster above with fishes tail, fore feet, and seems to have body like horse and head of horse or griffin. Below, altar and dolphin on either side. No handle. Raised base. Large incised stamp. Glaze worn especially on figures on discus.
