Brevoort from the Detroit Fire Department, printed on stationery with a header of an eagle grasping a banner that reads, "e pluribus unum." The note reads: The Fire Department of the City of Detroit, Respectfully solicit the Company of Maj. H.B. Brevoort at Dinner, near the National Hotel, in celebration of the approaching Anniversary of American Independence, on Monday the 5th inst. Detroit, July 2, 1847 Committee: Jno. R. Williams Zina Pitcher R.E. Roberts "Rec. July 4th at 2 PM," has been handwritten at the top of the note.
