Lounge, Str. City of Detroit

Description:
One blueprint drawing entitled "Lounge, Str. [Steamer] 'City of Detroit'." The drawing shows the men's smoking lounge (known as the Gothic Room) and periodical stand in the passenger steamship, SS City of Detroit III. The drawing was done at a scale of 1/2 inch= 1 foot. The title block in the lower right corner shows that it was prepared by "Louis O. Keil, Interior Designer, Detroit, Mich.," and was dated July 13, 1911. Several years after the ship was scrapped in 1956, the salvaged lounge was acquired by the City of Detroit and was reassembled in the Dossin Great Lakes Museum.
