Black and white photograph taken overlooking work to convert building "B" of the Ford River Rouge Factory Complex from manufacture of Eagle Boats to that of automobiles

Description:
Black and white photograph taken overlooking work to convert building "B" of the Ford River Rouge Factory Complex from manufacture of Eagle Boats to that of automobiles. The strip at the center of the photo, in one of the inner aisles of the building, has been mostly filled with dirt, and regularly spaced wooden forms holding concrete slabs with lengths of rebar sticking out. Piles of wood and dirt run along the length of the strip. Workers have climb ladders up to the trusses that run between the building's columns. A worker is at the controls of the overhead crane in the adjacent aisle on the right. "26787-5-27-19," is printed in the lower right corner of the recto, and "Laying assembly-line track in 'B' bldg (27 May 1918)," is handwritten on the verso. The photo is mounted on a linen backing.
