Eight sheets joined by parchment tie in upper left corner., Eight parchment court rolls, folded, relating to West Hanningfield, Essex, all of which are contemporary with one another and are joined together by a single parchment tie. Extensive damage to the membranes of several rolls with significant loss of text., Written in English secretary script, likely all by the same hand. Ink bleeding through the parchment. Item 1 is written in slightly larger and darker hand with opening words in bastard anglicana., and Written in England, probably in West Hanningfield between 1603 and 1611 (each document has a different date). On the first item, dorse: the number”59” in pencil. On item 2, dorse: “843” in pencil. Gift of Western Michigan University Department of History to WMU Special Collections in 1999.
