oil lamp fragment with armed figure motif; Rome; Lamps; Ceramic; Glaze

Notes:
Buff clay with worn red glaze. Nozzle missing up to straight groove at base with small stamped circle on either side. Extended part way across broad plain rim. Double circular groove about discus. Air hole at base of nozzle. In center of discus, figure running to right with head turned front, three tufts of hair or horns over forehead. Bow (?) in raised left hand, dagger in right hand. Tail of drapery behind. Ring handle, two grooves on upper half, circular reverse set off by single groove within which is stamp. Double concentric circle above and below signature BIC (IRI) AGAT (HOPI).
