Notes:

Terracotta female figure (Totenweib?) with feet pointed downward seated on base decorated with incised vertical chevrons. Both arms are bent up at elbow with lower arms raised sideways; hands are outspread, facing front. Figure wears hairdo consisting of parallel vertical rows of curls which are indicated by horizontal incised lines. On head is wreath with a stippled surface and a feather at temple either side. Figure also wears a raised necklace with large raised pendant, bracelets on both wrists and anklets on both ankles, indicated by incised lines. Legs and lap indicated by incised horizontal lines; breasts, stomach, navel and genitalia are prominent and indicated by modeling and incision. Back of figure is undecorated; there is a fingertip indentation in center of back. Two-part mold. Surface pitted by holes where straw burned away in firing. Remains of white paint on front, now powdery, and traces of red and black detailing around feet. Fair condition.
