Description:: Fannie Beal, niece of William James Beal, the Michigan Agricultural College botanist who was a pioneer in the development of hybrid corn and the founder of the W. J. Beal Botanical Garden, reminisces about her family and her famous uncle. Fannie and other unidentified speakers engage in a free flowing conversation about genealogy, travel, food, education, and the careers of the extended family. Beal describes her career as a teacher at the Michigan State Normal School in Ypsilanti, MI where she began working part time in 1919 and rose to the position of Dean.
