Mounted sepia-toned photographic print of a parade of canoes on one of Belle Isle's lakes. A chain of tied-together canoes passes heading toward the right edge of the frame. These canoes are wrapped in fabric, and decorated with streamers and garland. A group of other canoeists are gathered on the banks of the island on the right. A crowd of spectators line the periphery of the lake on the left, extending from the foreground toward a small dock in the background. A figure on the on the shore in the background near the center of the image appears to be aiding in raising or taking down a tent. "1906," is handwritten on the verso.
