oil lamp with armed rider motif; Lamps; Ceramic; Slip

Notes:
Coarse buff clay with traces of reddish brown slip. Semi-circular nozzle extending part way across rim and ending in straight groove with small stamped circle on either side. Band design of straight grooves across neck. Design of wavy lines on broad rim, separated from discus by two circular grooves. Mounted warrior on discus riding to left but turning to look back. Square shield on left arm. Ring handle, two grooves on upper half, one on lower. Base surrounded by circular groove. Small hole broken in side of lamp. Incised inscription on under side.
